Creating a robust pipeline of well-trained talent to support our businesses and grow our economy is top priority at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
In that pursuit, the Chamber has been the driving force in convening partners to offer educational programs and services in Warren County that directly benefit our businesses and job seekers alike.
SCK LAUNCH, South Central Kentucky Learning About Unique and New Careers Here, is an overarching talent development strategy that begins at the earliest opportunity in kindergarten and carries through to graduation.
SCK LAUNCH implies taking off in a targeted direction as a result of strategic preparation and access to powerful momentum – which is exactly what we want to provide our community’s future talent.
Building on the momentum achieved through implementation of the principles of Franklin-Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in elementary and middle schools, we are mapping out a path toward continuing and building on that leadership training through the lens of career immersion in all area high schools. The Chamber will collaborate with schools as they work to integrate a career-focused model with Covey leadership principles to create a curriculum that prepares students for both career and college. The final goal is for every high school graduate to have learned and applied leadership skills such as being proactive, accountable, resourceful and professional to the hard skills associated with earning a nationally portable industry certification.
Through partnerships with educators, business and industry leaders and national organizations, the Chamber has created and funded the groundbreaking SCK LAUNCH initiative from the ground up.
